Default Cooter Needs Rehoming! (South Wales)

I do not have these animals yet - they are being brought in as part of our rehoming tomorrow, but I would ideally like to see them rehomed as soon as possible.

They are described as two sub adult to adult florida cooters, approximately hand sized! I am told they are in good health and have been looked after correctly but the owners are emigrating, so they are a rehome, not a rescue.

Obviously I will have more details such as pictures, size and so forth for tomorrow and will be able to confirm the ID then but if anyone has the facilities to offer a permanent home to these guys please let me know.

We are located in Cardiff.

Going by what Graham as said they appear to be a male Yellow Bellied Slider and a female Florida Cooter.

Here are pictures, you can try to judge for yourself

Not that it makes any difference (care wise) ,but the female is a Hieroglyphic River Cooter (Pseudemys concinna heiroglyphica). I'd be surprised if it ended up any less than 12" in shell length. Realistically speaking the potential keeper would need atleast a 6' x 2' x 2' tank or indoor pond, as the cooter can't be outside in the cold months.

You reckon a Hiero James? I said either that or a Florida, I wasn't quite sure, some of these cooters are quite tricky to ID!

Thanks, make sure you pay attention to that potential owners, if anyone can provide the correct setup for this lady as she can't live in a pond all year around, do get in contact with me via PM.

Gloucester wouldn't be a problem for a petrol / time cost Amyloveys but you may not have the space (or money) to set up a minimum of a 6 x 2 x 2 turtle setup. Let me know if you do!

The YBS is going to a very good home, who has also offered to foster the cooter on a temporary basis whilst I am searching as our setup here is less than ideal for turtles of that size... so if anyone can offer a good home to the cooter, please step up

A 5' x 2' x 2' would be OK, as a permanent home for the Cooter by itself. Use the 40L per an inch of shell length to work out the size it'd need at the moment.
