Just copying this across from my previous classified thread. A bit of background of the parent tortoises.
A bit about the parents. We have 3 females and one male. The group currently live in a 6x3ft well ventilated viv and will soon be moving to an 8x3.5ft deep walled part open top. They get out and about in the house during the winter to stretch their legs and have an explore. In summer they also go outside if the weather is up to it. They have a ramp back up to the door so they can get back in the house and back into their viv if they fancy a warm under the heat lamp. Only one of them is particularly good at this. Two others find somewhere shady and wait to be collected. The other storms straight back inside unless tempted to stay out with some food. They are big fans of small orange segments. Preferably fed by hand and posted into their beaks for some reason. Which is fine if you don't mind getting squited in the eye with orange juice! They have a varied diet of mostly leafy stuff and about 20-30% very ripe fruit. The majority of the breeding is between our two largest, both around 5kg with the female being larger than the male. The other females are a bit smaller so we will wait and see what happens in the future.
Just thought I'd tell you a bit about our tortoises. They are each very individual and obviously if you are interested in a baby red foot, you'll also be interested in the adults too.
