Why did you now come here BEFORE getting the tort?

Never mind. Hermans tortoises do well in a substrate of 60% top soil 40% play sand mined together and kept slighlty damp.

What substrata are you using...and if it is sand and soil...you do not need anything else.
Some choose to have an area of hemp, some chose to have hemp on top...its personal choice.
Personally I went off hemp as I had a couple of incidents with littlies getting it in their eyes and biggie males getting it stuck in their bits and pieces.

i became a member of shelled warriors before hand , when she was delivered she came with a bag of bark which i havent used and paper for bedding and was a bit confused she gave me a lot of false informtion said didnt need uvb didnt need a basking lamp but have purchased these items before hand im using 50%soil/50%sand just wanted to know what she gave me bedding for and if others used shedded paper

sand/soil is best
