How old do herman tortoises have to be before they can breed and is it easy to do?

It depends on what race you have and it depends on the size.

Westerns 6 or 7 inches... Easterns 7 to 9 inches.

As Ed has already said it depends on size not age... but don't you think it would be best to learn how to sex them before you try and breed them?
