You should seriously consider a quarantine period of a minimum 3 months.

Don't Horsfields fight though if they don't have much space? I am sure I have heard people say that in the past. And a 3ft tort table wouldn't be a very big area for one tort let alone two.

But what you think is a good size isn't necessarily what a tort would think of as a good size. In a 3ft tort table they wouldn't really be able to get away from each other.

They may only bite each other as they are getting towards sexual maturity, but as you can get a dominant behaviour in young torts I would have thought two Horsfields could do it from a young age too.

I don't own Horsfields, but I know I have read of other peoples who have been bullying each other.

Ok, someone who has Horsfields has just said to me that yes two Horsfields in a tort table will fight and are very vicious. They need LOTS of room.

So unless you can put them in a large enclosure outside (with heating of course) when they are not hibernating, or keep them in two separate tort tables I wouldn't bother getting another.

Knicker twisting??? You asked a question and I replied. I don't understand why people ask questions if they will take the hump when they are given the answer!!

So why won't the torts be hibernating in the winter?

Unfortunately Shelley, this person has a habit of being rude to people offering help in previous topics. Dont take it to heart

Your Horsfields does not need "company" the only thing to be gained by adding another tortoise to the table squirt occupies is stress.
More torts in a small space only equals more competition for food, light/heat and places to hide. As always happens one tort is likely to be bolder and become more dominant eating all the food, sitting in the best basking or hiding spots and leaving the other at a disadvantage.

The only reason to do it in a 3' table is to satisfy your human need to see animals with "friends"
