Default Forum Novice !!

Hi Everybody - I jusy happened to come across this forum by accident a couple of days ago. I was really entertained by the banter that goes on especially between Ed and BlondeSarah! I have never been on a forum before.

I have 3 Leopard Tortoises - 2 girls and a boy. At present they all live indoors with me - they have their own area with 160 w lamp - bedding - stones - logs and they do tend to stay around there. They go out for at least an hour a day (temp permitting) in the winter and spend all day outside in the summer.

I am presently in the process of selecting outside accomodation for the winter months to allow them to have a more natural enviroment than a wooden floor!! If anyone has any suggestions I was thinking of someting about 10 x 12 mainly glass.

It is nice to read all your comments on feeding ect. and to see your photos too. I am a member of our local Tortoise soceity and gain much info from them.

Thanks - you both seem to have good points though - I get different info on Leopards - they are quite a breed !! Didn't know what I was getting into when I got my first one but thanks to the society I seem to be coping OK now - and added to the family !!!!

Did I see that you had 3?

I have 2 leopards and adult female and a sub adult male.
They are great tortoises and dont let anyone put you off them! if you are aware of their needs as they grow huge and gosh they are strong they are brilliant.

Congratulations on your eggs !!!!

No I won't be put off - I now know what I have let myself in for but they are great and very individual in character too....

Still quite new at it though - only had my first one 18 months ago. Just adopted my 3rd 4 weeks ago - she is a big girl only 4 years old but grew very quickly the owners couldn't meet her needs. She is treble the size of Lillie who is 8 !!!!
