And it is used in hospitals, in fact "red label" Milton Fluid is only supplied to hospitals and health authorities, the retail version of the product is actually twice the strength of the red label one, presumably to ensure it's continued effectiveness in non-medical situations.

Okay, You have sold your case well but I will have to look into it. One thing milton does not do the foot and mouth virus as I work on a farm and we had to spend a fortune on it. DEFRA approved and so on

Default disinfectant

the best disinfectant i've found is a product called Odourfresh. It's a disinfectant and deodoriser. You can buy it online from a company called MISTRAL. It's amazing stuff, and 5L have lasted me ages.It comes in loads of frgrances, and its reasonably priced as well. My favorite is the apple.

Not looked after tortoises for about 9mths but when I did I used TriGene.

I wouldn't use any other when needing a broader spectrum disinfectant, though for normal/usual cleaning of bowls - where there is illness symptoms, quarantine measures, etc, a usual reptile disinfectant which is effective against many viruses and bacteria should be adequate.

TriGene is effective and gentle(non toxic) for all animals and is recommended by zoos, vets and farms and is DEFRA approved(must be used at the correct dilutions if not pre-diluted).

You mix 1ml to one litre of water, it can also be used to help runny nose.

I use Formula H disinfectant and get it in a large concentrated bottle for around £5. It lasts for ages but Milton is just as good as it's recommended for babies so fine with animals.

F10 is stronger and has more uses than Milton.
