Milton fluid, not heard of that in years... Since I stopped sterilising babies bottles in fact!! I would never have thought about using that for the torts at all.

I use Virkon which I buy in a huge and very expensive tub from my vet, but it last a few years.

Why would you want a disinfectant that has more uses than the ability to disinfect and why use anything stronger than something like milton fluid which ticks all the boxes and is so safe that it's use is recommended for the disinfection of babies bottles.
It's not how much you spend but how wisely you spend it.

I agree with hannahippo, Odourfresh is by far the best disinfectant and deodoriser i have ever used. Its a broad spectrum disinfectant, and because it doesnt contain phenols, pine oils and bleach, i dont have to move my pets when i want to disinfect. It's great!!

Hi
Have got to say i use Trigene myself, diluted correctly it can last around 6mths in a trigger bottle so it's ideal if i need to spot clean anything, but by the same token i use it because i can get it at a reasonable price through work, if not able to would probably have looked for something cheaper that does the same thing.

Trigene is great, just wear gloves when using it. I did work ex at a vets years ago and we used it to clean the tables in between appointments, after 2 weeks my hands were red raw, and have stayed pretty sensitive since. No one ever told me to wear gloves when using it. Great stuff though lol.

Ooooh the raw hands.... I've used TriGene for primates, farm animals, kennels, pets, reptiles, etc and no-one told me to use gloves either and my hands were so sore and chapped from that and from washing my hands constantly.

Gloves should be used... however I'm a devil for not doing stuff like this and am currently suffering again despite knowing, from chapped fingers - must start using them gloves again

I use Keep it Clean which is a spray you can buy for about £1.50... it can be used for all animals and reptiles. I use it for the geckos vivs, the tortoise table, the hamster and gerbil homes and the dog bowls. Smells nice, brings glass up nice and shiny on the vivs and is very cheap. I know lots of people use it in the Lizard section.

It cleans, disinfects and helps prevent viral and bacterial infections. I've been using it for about a year now and have found it really good.

F10 sc is great stuff. It is safe for use with animals and is one of the few broad spectrum disenfectants that can actually be nebulised and used to treat respiratory infections. Gotta be good for that and not really that expensive! i also use it in a fogger to sterilise my water dragon enclosureas it is grouted and has lots of awkward nooks and crannys.
