Yes, I did originally but I lost one a number of years ago, that breeder has 2 different bloodlines and I originally purchased one of each.

Bev just a suggestion hun but have you tried www.shelledwarriors.co.uk ? Dedicated tortoise site and forum, thats probably your best bet to find fellow egyptian keepers.
Nice idea but no go - there are only 1 or 2 members of that forum who have Egyptian Tortoises and 1 is in the US. There are very few in private captivity in the uk.

ah bugger that's a shame in that case clive may be about to become one lucky bugger

Just curious, what are the european shows like Hamm like for tortoises..does anybody know? I know imports of mor common species such as hermanns and horsfields are rife, but are any of the rarer species found there..or is it the same situation, ie wild caught/captive farmed?

Before the internet you could get species such as the Radiateds dirt cheap... 2 or 3 hundred US.

Tortoises are represented but are not as much so as the snakes or lizards.

Bugs are popular also.

Isn't the Hamm show coming up? I've got a few friends going. I'll make it one of these days.

yeah Hamm is this coming weekend I think. I'm sure there are some threads confirming dates elsewhere but i THINK its this saturday.

I know it's a huge show for snakes and lizards just wasn't sure about chelonians. That's a real shame, especially when new blood so desperately needed it would seem
