I've noticed shelled warriors sell some seeds that alot of people believe are toxic, I have personally researched various source and if I find more than two different independant sources that say they are toxic then I keep well away. Torts metabolism is so slow it could take many months for side effects to show and by then the damage is done. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Mine get it as well (with no adverse effects) and again it's apart of a 5/6 weed diet.

Just be careful long term. It's similar to the argument over pellets, short term you dont notice the difference but it's what effects it causes long term.

It's only avaliable for a small part of the year & I only use it in conjunction with other weeds - even a 'totally safe' weed such as dandilion can cause problems if it's used in isolation.

Anything can cause problems if used on it's own as they need a varied diet to get the nutrients they need but when a weed/plant shows up as toxic in 5 different reference lists, I would say that's a pretty big risk to take with your torts health.
