Smile Recognising weeds question

Is the one called hedge bedstraw what we would call 'sticky willies' its the one that sticks to you when you put it on your clothes.

How would I know what is bad, its just that some leaves on the plants here look the same as others and i'm worried that i will give my tort something bad

Hi I have found some information that says sticky willy is toxic so just to be safe I would avoid it.

I feed sticky bud, have done for over 10 years. But use it in a mixed weed diet.
If unsure take a picture and post it on here for Id

Unfortunatly some toxic weeds take a while to build up in the system, like arsnic in humans so it may be a number of years before you notice any ill effects by which time it would be to late for your tort I would definatly avoid this weed.

Is it really toxic i thought sticky willy and hedge bedstraw are the same ive been feedin it to my torts recently with dandies as well though. Could i have poisoned my torts? Were talking about the plant with long stems with about 5 leafs coming out at each interval that are stcky?
Oh and theres a photo on shelled warriors of sticky willy as an edible plant

There was a bit of a debate on another forum about it a while ago... some people are (strongly) of the opinion that it is toxic and some are of the opposing view. I've never fed it and wouldn't unless I could be absolutely sure it's not toxic for torts.

Yes both are best avoided with torts, eating a tiny bit wont do damage but feeding on a regular basis or part of a weed diet will have lasting effects. A great site to go on if you are ever unsure about weeds is tortoisenutrition in yahoo groups, they are really helpful and give great advise.

Thanks so a little bit wont do any harm, cause the weeds have only sprouted for a few weeks. And theres plenty of dandies and other weeds at the moment cause its spring to feed em so i'll cut it out of there diet. Does shelled warriors not agree then cause they say you can? It's not another contravercial tortoise things is it!
