My friend got a syphon kit for his fish tank for a quid, its a thick tube and a cork, you cork one end and put the other end in the tank, open the cork and the water flows.

more than likely- I think I may have got the wrong end of the stick though, as he said it has some sort of pump on it- I've not seen it myself so can't comment.
