Also, it is something like 26"L by 16"W and 12"H.
I think I will put in there for now because of the space I have in my house. After I get my pets that I got for my birthday on a stand then I can start to switch out the tank for another size. I just want to have enough room for it in the beginning and go from there. I think I will get a 4 week old hatchling. It will be pretty small. Also, the breed, who knows what sizes he breeds, says it will be fine for at least 3 yrs. I am going to make sure it happy and well before I start thinking about another tank. If it grows at a fast rate than I will get a big tortoise table (need to find one). I will work from what I have and the expenses I have right now and later when I have the money I will get him/her a bigger tank. I might also put outside in the summer time because it is very humid and hot in the summer and I would like it to be outside and enjoying itself in the sun. I can also piss off the neighbors.

Also, what about lighting if I get a open box should I put in a basking light and just that how would I get a lighting fixture in the tank. Also, about the tortoise table, how would I make it stand up and not have to be on something?

I ordered this for my Cherry Head for this Spring outside. I am going to cut away the lid, leaving the sides so it can still snap close, and replace the plastic with screen. It is big enough to last at least 3 o4 4 years. I ordered it from this place, and it came very fast, and in perfect shape all wrapped up in bubble wrap.

I don't think I explained this right. I am going to make a cut out on the lid and replace it with screen, but the lid will still be able to close. Do you understand that? I don't know if I am explaining it the right way..When I finish it I will post a picture. I am going to put a mixture of soil, zoo med forest floor, peat moss, and leaf litter. I will also put a lot of plants in there to hold the humidity. I can't wait for Spring

I think the size viv you're wanting to keep your new red foot in is far too small, and if space is a problem in your house maybe you should consider a different species.
They grow to a good medium/large tortoise mine is 21cm and still has lots of growing left she is in a 51/2ft by 31/2ft approx indoor enclosure and will be needing a larger one. So you need to plan ahead so you know you'll be able to cater for their needs as they grow. Also they need heat and lighting all year round and this is costly especially when they are larger and needing larger enclosures. Red foots do need humidity but also need ventilation to prevent respiatory problems - this can be a problem with vivs |

Vivs are fine for redfoots as long as there is a humind hide to stop them drying out, Vivs do have plenty of ventilation holes and if there are not enough they can be easily modified. |
