you can use a wide variety of plants and they dont have to be expensive. a good range include
there are loads more plants but i have found these to be cheap and easy to care for. it helps to have a mix of plants they will eat and plants they dont bother with, but every tortoise is different.

Honeysuckle flowers are fine for them to eat
Here's a good list of edible flowers: Diet and healthy growth There's also a good sticky at the top of the page.

It would depend on the species as to what you put in an outdoor enclosure.
My Hermanns have an all sand/soil mix, with slate, log roll, large pebbles ans things like that in. No edible plants because they would eat them within a day! My Leo's have an enclosure with grass so that they can graze. They also have a sand/soil mix in one area, slate and that kind of stuff. The main difference is that they have grass and the Hermanns don't. |
