if you buy a potted rose then wait for the new flowers to grow. 90% of commercial nurseries and growers use fertilisers and pesticides to increase the yield and profit margins. So any flowers will contain some of the treatment that has been used. Personally i wouldnt use them at all but at the same time if i found out my husband had given my tort some petals from a commercial grower i wouldnt have a panic attack unless i spotted any dodgy symptoms. I wouldntbe too happy to feed my kids food that had been treated with chemicals so i try to avoid doing the same to my animals, but thats a personal choice. others may well differ!
