If you do decide to rehome them you can 'gift' them to others without paperwork and they can then apply for the papers with a letter from you stating that they were 'gifted' and why you have no paperwork.

I hope you don't have to though and that you can make a permanent home for them in the shed with access to an outdoor area for summer. I'm sure you'd miss them.
