Hey Viet,

My advice for what its worth, is for a first tort, go for a Horsefield. They grow at a good pace but to a manageable size. They are very reasonably priced at the moment, and as for the garden issue. B&Q or any garden center sell bamboo fencing that will just cut a managable size chunk of the garden. They are great torts, we have two, and they have loads of character.

I have 3 Leopards they are a lovely tortoise but they can be hard work - there are several factors to take into consideration - like Tinkerbruce said - the heating bills - my last Gas and electric bill was £500 - my last vets bill was £210 - they dont hiberanate - they love the garden but can only go out according to the ground temperature. They do get big but if you have the space that is not a problem.

I am bias however and I have never had any other species but you must research and see which best suits your circumstances.
