A 4' x 2' x 2' tank is the minimum size I'd recommend for a single adult Silder. You'd also need a decent external filter rated for twice the amount of water you have in the tank and lighting which provides UVB and heat to the basking area (the best solution to this on a large tank would be an MVB).

Only what I suggested in my earlier post, what would you call "small" anyway?
It's not so much the size of the turt itself as the size of the tank required, although the two are relative it comes as a big shock to most people to discover just how big a tank they will need. If you read the sticky at the top of this section on calculating tank sizes, you can work out for yourself what size of tank and therefore what size of turt you can accomodate. Not forgetting that the bigger the turt, the bigger the tank, and also the bigger the filter you'll need, and the cost of a large cannister filter is not inconsiderable. |

www.camzoo.co.uk - Turtles and Terrapins
Interesting turtles here that can typically be about 20cm SCL. (Might grow bigger if you overfeed tough). BTW - have not bought from this guy myself so I'm not recommending as such - just it is local to me & a bit different too.
