arrr that makes me angry arent they a protected species though so wouldnt that be illegal? although in that part of the world they probs wouldnt do anything to protect it

It's hard not to be angry with the fishermen who killed the turtle but they are probably unaware of it's protected status and see it as an acceptable prey item. They have more immediate concerns such as feeding their families earning a living. I just hate seeing a healthy leatherback die like that.

I find the whole thing very distressing, however, the thing that concerns me most is that their goerment hasn't educated them ect on just how important these animals are.

In their eyes it is acceptable prey, which is disgraceful and that poor turtle has been let down by their goverment.

Makes me sick.

it's f**king grim, but i suspect the palestinians have got things other than turtle conservation on their minds...the guy probably has no idea of it's endangered/protected status and kills it as he thinks it can help his family, if those last two points are true, it's hard to blame him, especially if you kill/eat other animals.

I think it's a cultural thing - like china and the turtles. Hopefully in time they'll change their views.

omg! didn't know what was coming until the knives were drawn! couldn't look but couldn't turn it off coz then i would have had to have looked to press the red button. just sat with my hands over my eyes and ears til it was over! this is disgusting, poor turtle

I haven't watched it cause I would get upset and wouldn't stop thinking about it. It sounds awful from the posts I've read
