Tiny, tiny bits as treats very occasionally will do no harm but they shouldn't constitute the main part of a horsfields diet.

You could always ring your local council and find out where they spray pesticides in local parks and on footpaths then you'd know where is safe.

Have you looked at some edible plant lists? You'll probably find plants in your garden that are safe, here's a couple of good lists:

if there is a grassed area that is council owned then they will not spray in the centre of the grass, normally just around the footpaths. It is not economical for them to treat grass for weeds when they get a contractor to cut the grass on a regualr basis. As long as you was any weeds you collect, and they are not dicoulored then i wouldnt worry too much. And if you see any nice weedy gardens then i have found that most people are happy to let you collect from ther, just ask! justifies people being lazy " oh, yeah, we dont cut the grassin our garden, reduces our carbon footprint and a mad tortoise person collects weeds from there!"

i use a little cucumber or grape to get my leopards to open their mouths nice and wide to check them for mouth rot and absecses etc. And of course to give them worming stuff! the size of my biggest female though it takes a big chunk of cucumber to hide her worming paste.
