Unhappy problems since hibernation

hi all

just a quick question my friends tortoise came out of hibernation at the end of feb this year but hasnt really been herself since, she is not as mobile as usual and isnt eating - as far as they know she hasnt poo'd either.

The owner gives her luke warm baths daily and this has not encouraged her to toilet!

Any one suggest anything?

Her temps are fine and she is still basking but doesnt seem as active as she usually is.

She is 4 and her shell is smooth, she has not lost any weight since hibernation but its almost as if she is going back into hibernation. she is fed a strict diet of weeds with calcium suppliments which she usually eats without problem.

They are taking her to the vets in Redditch (specialist vet) but i thought id ask on here incase anyone had any ideas.

Any ideas etc would be brilliant

Thanks

Hayley

hello not reli my section yet as i have not hibernated as this is my first year with torts but maybe you coud up the bathing to 2-3 tiimes a day for about 15 minutes to see if this makes any difrence,
if the tort is eating well but cant poo i would think it may be constipated as said in another post some were on here if a tort is constipated it could have somthing to do with the heat 2 high ot 2 low
try a little grated carrot over torts food,

what tortoise is it please and what are the exact temps in the set up you have

just trying to read up online for you see if i find out, im at work so dont think im not coming back im having a sneeky peek at todays posts lol
suposed to be filling in job sheets but y not eh!

Depending on where the tortoise was hibernated, frost damage could be a real possibility. In some parts of the country this year overnight temperatures fell to -17 Celsius and many tortoises in attics and outbuildings died or suffered damaged eyes. There is more on this here:

You vet should be able to check the eyes for signs of damage, and carry out other tests to determine the cause of the problem.
