Yes that was the plan but after speaking to the breeder about the Marginated ones I went for one of those.

They can still go together later on.

Hermanns and marginateds cant live together can they? Mixing species isnt that good, so isnt that mixing species?

Putting a horsefield and a hermann together isnt good, so why would putting a marginated and a hermanns be ok?

I might be wrong though, and if i m, sorry.

I had this discussion with the breeder as we wanted one to live with Georgie later on.

She told us that apart from the Marginates liking a bit more fruit they were fine together, she wouldnt have sold me one otherwise.

They are doing good thanks India. Georgie is very lively at the moment. Freddie is a bit quieter but I was prepared for that with the change of enviroment and things.

Thanks for asking

Mixing different species isn't recommended because of the different pathogens they can carry.

Wouldn't mind some Marginated torts myself, but I wouldn't be keeping them with my Hermanns.

hi regardless of if your hermans is a female or not the marginated males are sexually very aggressive and should it batter it to induce mateing as it invariably will once mature, your hermans being thinner shelled as the males of that species tend to bite the female more than butt is not able to withstand this and will suffer serious damage which can and does cause the deaths of hermans tortoises that are kept within mixed groups,im sorry to have to say it but its true i have known of it happening several times over the years that i have been involved keeping and breeding tortoises.im surprised your breeder advised this and feel either they are being irresponsible or have no experience of other species.i understand completely if you dont believe me but please be prepared to seperate them should this happen as they mature, or you will almost certainly end up with a fatality.
