No one would listen to the smurfs in prison,so they jumped over the wall,a policeman saw them he chased and caught them, and this is what he asked them all. ''Where are you all coming from'' ''Were from dartmoor on the run'' ''how did you work out your route'' ''we followed the arrows on our suits'' etc etc The Smurfs escaped from prison by The Barron Knights lol Gerry. |

It would help to know exactly which species of snakeneck you have, most are tropical but at least one is a cold water species, purely because it's the most common though I'm guessing it's Macrochelodina rugosa which is one of the tropical ones.
I don't keep them myself, but there's a good caresheet here ATP - Care Sheet: Northern Australia Snakeneck, if you follow that advice you should be OK. What's the long-term plan, will you be keeping them or rehoming them?

Hi
You've certainly had a lot to take in! I hope they all do well. I assume the RSPCA had them vet checked before handing them over? Was anything in particular raised? I'm a redfoot keeper/breeder. From what you have posted and been told I don't think you have encountered tropical tortoises before (no offence). Your redfoot is probably too small to sex but it doesn't really matter. As littlefoot said, room temperature is too low for a redfoot. They can take a while to settle in if they have been stressed so won't eat. I would say red lettuce leaves, rocket for tasty leaves. Melon, peach, plum, for fruit. Mushroom usually goes down well. Best not to watch them eat as they settle in. What do you know about how the redfoot was kept before? Also where are you? Is the redfoot in a good way or does it need special treatment? Good luck with all you've taken on. Any pictures would be a great help, but sounds like you are a bit busy for that. Cheers |
