It's ironic you use Bill McCords video as an exaqmple.

I don't like it... but is it wrong?... I don't think I'm qualified to actually judge.

I'm going to continue to worry about my own ethics and how I treat people and animals first.

I'm not a vegan. I eat meat. I fish. I can't bring myself to actually hunt and I wonder about the 'pleasure' of killing an animal for sport but I can't say it is wrong also try and keep an open mind regardless of how I feel. I can say I don't like it but can I fault another for taking pleasure in the action?... it depends.

If I see all the chelonian groups come together to work under one unbrella... I might be willing to join in.

There is a basic problem that needs to be addressed and solved before I can feel comfortable in following someone elses cause. The problem is cooperation... there isn't any.

Yea... I know what you're saying about cultural cruelty.

That's just my opinion. If it bothers me... I just don't look. If I can actually do something about it... I try.

There has to be a way of going about it to were there is a give and a take whether we like it or not. Compromise is the best solution in my eyes. I believe control is the most offensive and invasive

You've heard it from me before.

That scene with the large softshell snapping at the knife as it was being cut apart over many, many minutes was beyond my own level of toleration to even watch it. I had to leave the room.

Can participating in cruelty on that scale be excused as part of someone's "culture"? I don't think so, which is one reason why I find what these Western companies are doing in China so totally unacceptable.

it cant be compared to joints of meat in a supermarket, I for one think its cruel, I dont see how anyone can think its not, regardless of the eithics of selling live turtles, the conditions they are kept in prior to selling are dreadful, I have seen pictures of cobras being kept in resturants in appalling conditions before being killed for consumption.

Also its not a new thing I remeber seeing a thread about it ages ago with a petition, I cant see it being stopped, there are much more important issues that need sorting in China im afraid.

is live lobster wrong in a resturant then when you can pick the one you want to eat then it gets boiled alive and makes that really loud noise? i love lobsters and they taste great too i think people tend to think to much about ethics at the end of the day it food and people need to eat regardless to whether its wrong or not. in this country its not socially or ethically exceptable but in china it is to eat a turtle, at the end of the day its sea food the same as a fish, lobster, conch (a huge water snail) and crab, have you ever been to an abitwour and seen a cow get killed? i dont think its a right but i still gotta eat.
