I was directed to this Forum in an attempt to locate turtles for a new pond that has just been completed. I am originally from Canada and would love to introduce Canadian Painted Turtles (Chrysemys picta picta) to the pond. So far I am having no luck. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Bill

Never heard it called a Canadian Painted Turtle before, Chrysemys picta picta is usually known as the Eastern Painted Turtle.
All of the Painted Turtle sub-species are very hard to find in the UK, they haven't been imported for years and very few are bred here, your best bet is to look for older animals up for rehoming, you might be lucky.
Is there any other species that would interest you? Red Ears, Yellow Bellies, Cumberlands are all easily available, often for free, and are all suitable for outdoor ponds in most parts of the UK.

The Red Ear and the Yellow Belly both look great. I am a bit concerned about them leaving the pond and escaping. Is this a concern with these two species?
I have enclosed a jpg of the pond prior to completion last fall. It is now up and running. The water in the main pool is filtered (including UV light).

Wow, that is going to be a GREAT pond! Escape will be an issue whichever species you choose, they all have a tendency to wander off now and then when the mood takes them. A friend's RES's are often found in his neighbour's pond, he always knows where to find them but has no idea why they choose to go there.
I would just make the sides as vertical and unclimbable as you can, and provide a basking spot in the middle in the form of an island or a floating dock, if there's an easy place to climb out they'll probably choose that in preference to a difficult one. Don't forget that females will go out of their way to find a good egg laying spot though.
