Don't panic - I'm sure someone here will be able to help.
How big is it? Also, what colour is it?

I don't want to sound daft, but are you sure it is a scab and not a bit of skin peeling off?

That's what I was just thinking actually. My female has one patch where her skin always flakes off in quite a big chunk.

I found one of those on one of my Leopards not too long ago. It was in the area of the nucal scute... dead center of the shell behind it's neck. It was curious to me but... I left it alone. If there is no blood or oozing... let it take its natural course... don worry abow'd it... seriously.

If it is bleeding or oozing... take it to the vet.

hi if he is timid and retracts whenever you go near he may be rubbing it on his shell it will never heal like that if this looks like the case a bit of fabric plaster over the edge of the shell will protect his neck giving things time to heal.just make sure any open wounds are kept clean and dry as there is a danger of fly strike once the warm weather arrives.if you have any real concerns consult a vet immediately.
