as above, if the tort has eaten some leaves, dont panic! they are very bitter to taste and most torts will investigate them, have a few nibbles and wander off. they dont contain enough "bad stuff" to do any damage.

dock leaves aren't good for animals because they contain quite alot of acid.

Butternut squash is from the pumpkin family - I think some of the guys on here recommend it for helping with bowel movements/worming ( the tortoises) not theirs!!!!!!!!

My horsfield has a liking for them and I am forever removing the dock leaves. But I once read a tort will taste many plants and if toxic will tend to stay away? Can anyone shed any light on this? I can't speak up as I don't have toxic plants in enclosure and wont allow the torts to free roam my garden even though I don't use chemicals.

OMG !!!

You ask if this helps??? No it does not !! Where to start ....

You list veg from the brassica family which inhibits the intake of calcium and fruit is NEVER recommended for med tortoises as it upsets the gut flora ......

IMO this list is an absolute disgrace and I cannot believe it is posted as a suitable diet for tortoises.

I have rehomed a tortoise that was fed on that and it is the most deformed tortoise I have ever seen.

There is a sticky on suitable weeds for tortoises ....

PLEASE REVISE THIS LIST and take a look at:
