That depends on the size of the turt, have you read the sticky about calculating tank size?

You start with the size of the turt, then allow 40 litres of water per inch, couldn't be simpler!

might sound silly but i have looked at pics of the same kind of terrapin as mine but mine has no tail well i have never seen it :s any help ?

Looking at your RES the shell looks a bit out of sync with the size of its head to me so I'm suspecting stunted growth also. How old/big is your turt. What is the length of the shell from front to back?

As for the tail - they have been known to get bitten off by other turtles. Or is it wrapped round to one side. They do this when picked up or stressed.

i no about the shell mate he/shes a rescue and he/she is 3 and a half inch long and not sure how old he/she is ..................
