Default Breaking Bread

I had this shot handy and thought I'd share...

This can open up a boat load of discussions...

they are beautiful Ed. But they obviously suffer at your hand! your regime of harsh brutality and cruelty to tortoises is evident in their cute little faces. they look misearble as sin, i can tell just by looking at them that they are mistreated. And you still make me jealous as hell! can i come and live with you and Mrs Ed?? i can cook and clean, and i dont mind cleaning up tort poo! i could sleep in a tort shed....

Mr Tinker would be glad to get rid of me and my torts! every time he sits down i find another job for him to do in the greenhouse, or a new viv for him to build for the snakes and lizards. He would be glad of the break, but would want me back around october to make the christmas preparations and the obligatory fruit cakes for the familly!

My biggest problem... extending the invite... with that banner...

guess i will have to wait until i have had the baby then! you got kids Ed? or are you more sensible? i often look around me and think "holy crap, when did all of this life happen ". i am 29 this year and feel like a 19 year old, but then there is days when my kids make me feel like a grumpy old fogey. I feel much more chilled out when i have been out in the greenhouse sorting the torts out, its amazing what a stress buster they are. And i get a huge amount of pleasure from planting their enclosure with lots of edible (and hardwearing) landscaping. Also spend an hour or two each day taking care of the snakes, lizards and dogs. and i still fit work in each day.

I'll bet if you did a search of 'Amanda' on the TT you'll come up with some of her/my antics... yes I have kids... 2... one a nightmare... the other a potential nightmare... but not there yet.

ummm... I turned 50 in November of last year... bet that blows you away... I refuse to grow up... might not actually have a choice.

Tortoises... back to them... you can't imagine the nightmare of planting the new yard and new enclosures... space means more area... more plants... much more money...

I've got Leachianus I'd like to send to my buddy in Costa Rica... I've got Sanzinia Madagascarensis... I'd like to sell... I've got a Bamboo Racer I'd like to do the same... then there is the evil pair of Cayman Iguanas... I can't give away and the female looks gravid... again.

Yup... herpers are nuts.

Mazuri Tortoise diet... I swear by it.

T-rex is coming out with an identical diet.

(sorry for the unshamless plug)

gotta agree with you, 99% of herpers are COMPLETELY nuts, but i have found them to be a good bunch of guys since i joined this forum! all of the other groups have been ok, but WAY too judgemental and biased.
And sorry but age does nothing for me,i may be 29 but my husband is 45. my eldest child is 10 and i am due no4 in 10 weeks. Nothing shocks me any more Ed, I find it easier to shock others these days!

So, how many tortoises do you have in total?? and how many of those have been added since you moved from your smaller garden!? any new groups planned or sticking with what you have??
