Question do ants and torts get along?

im really unlucky as our grassy areas are home to red and black ants, i dont want to put them down if it will cause problems, i have had to resort to making there outdoor home inside a large box trailer as a temporary measure, any thoughts on the effects of ants on torts ?

We have the same problem with ants.

They get everywhere Everytime I move a pen that the guinea pigs have been in I find a large number of ants.

I cant stand the little devils

Ive read somewhere else that ants dont like limestone flour.

Dont know why but I will certainly be putting some around my enclosure when I have it built.

Have you had any luck with finding the nest(s), leave some food out and track some ants carrying it and see where they go, then eliminate!

This seems to vary with the type of ant. I have had some types attack my box turtles. Luckily, in our new yard, we don't seem to have those bad boys! The large red and black ants haven't shown interest in the torts or their food.

Box turtles eat some meat, so maybe they were attracted by that first. They don't seem much interested in my torts salad
