Smile does anyone have any pics of old herman tortoise?

i've never seen an old herman tortoise, does anyone have any pics they could post stating its age?

not sure, all the pics i've seen are of 10 years old or less, i havent seen any pics of older ones, or even any for sale for say a 60 years old etc

Ive got a tort thats 35 yrs old but he doesnt look any different to others really.

Why do you want to see pics?

just curious more than anything, i've seen one thats claimed to be 70 on a website and its not really clear how big he was, can you buy older torts or do they get rarer the older they are?

Well this is Speedy, he is about 35 yrs old. Hes not huge and he is a spurthighed tortoise.



You dont see many older torts for sale, most of the ones I have seen for sale have been between 2 and 10yrs old.

Alot of people put them into rescues.

I dont think its that accurate but you can get a rough idea by their size and weight.

The more experienced keeper/breeder might be able to tell you a better way.

We know speedy's age within a year or two because I know roughly how old I was when we got him.

hi this is Lassie who is about 50 years old with one of her daughters who is 9 years old in the picture it was taken a couple of years ago.
