well as bearded dragons are from australia (and i cant actually think of any native australian torts) and can harbour VERY high levels (potentialy lethal) of coccidia i would say NO, this is not right! i saw a petshop in bolton the other day with 2 leopards and a beardy in a viv and i nearly cried. the beardy had a fat leo stomping all over it and there was nothing it could do. THESE WOULD NOT LIVE TOGETHER IN THE WILD!!! Australia has turtles, but i dont know of any true terrestrial land torts. if its a turtle, then the viv conditions will be WAY to humid for most tortoises. and if its a tortoise then i feel sorry for them both. beardys require ARID desert environments and enjoy climbing and pooing daily, and eating insects like locusts that have been known to EAT into the flesh of animals if the are left in a viv. a med tortoise living with a beardy is going to be too hot. an african tort living with beardy is still not acceptable due to the possible cross contamination of parasites, bacterie and infections.
Sorry for the rant, i am not very often wound up by people keeping a mix of species, i just pity them, but seeing the way the beardy in the shop was beaten around by the torts, ITS NOT ON, AND ITS NOT RIGHT. tell your freind to get them seperated and learn to research.
