Until Balders is big enough I dont think I could leave her outside, no matter how safe I made it. Id worry too much.
Im freaking out now because I know I am doing something wrong.

She has lost 50 grams over about a month period. I noticed she was not eating as much, and then she just kinda stopped.
Balders has been moved about twice in the past 2 weeks. I went on holiday and my parents were looking after her. It took 2/3 days and she started eating at my parents. She even ate some chicken, something I have never got her to do. Then last week we moved her back (I live 1` mile from my parents) and she wouldnt touch anything. I popped her in the garden, she went straight for cat turd. I moved her from it and then she started munching grass and dandilion leaves. She had a go at some other bush but I moved her. I have no idea what bush it is.
My idea is to see how this crop of weeds grows and what she does with them. It might sound odd, but she wont eat picked food, she wants to do it herself. :os

I bathe her in the morning and when i get home from work to see if this stimulates her to go. Also it washes the sand and soil out of her eyes. I have Orchid bark on top of this but she likes to dig.

I have taken her to a vet and I am completing the course of antibiotics that have been prescribed to her.
No need to yell.

Lee, I've never heard of the vet in Tarporley so cannot comment - but an alternative should, for any reason, you not be able to get to the Tarporley one is Hannah Bould who has an excellent reputation with torts:

Hannah Bould
Friarswood Veterinary Centre
12 Friarswood Road
Newcastle-under-Lyme
Staffordshire
ST5 2EG
Tel: 01782 615698
Fax: 01782 662575

I do realise this is about 45 miles from you but I'm sure it would be time and money well spent if she can get to the bottom of his problems.

I wish you the very best of luck and sincerely hope that Balders makes a full recovery. Let us know how you get on.

No worries, I think this place in Tarporley is best, apparently Kevin Eatwell is there???
The main reason Im not already booked in is that I work 9-5 so I need to book a day as Tarporley is about 35 miles away.
Ive also been thinking maybe its TOO hot in the basking end for her? I dropped the temperature down to about 80-85 and she seemed more active...

No, and I feel bad because you have advised me to try them and I have not. I cant stand prawns so I do not have them in the house.
My mam loves them, im gonna rob one off her tonight.
Now I feel bad :o(
Littlefoot have a ganders at this. This is from The British Chelonia Group. There advice on what to feed redfoots....

Native: Whatever is available in their natural habitat.
Captive: These tortoises eat the largest variety of foods of seemingly any other tortoise. All fruits and vegetables, both fresh, cooked, tinned or de-frosted, soaked dog and cat pellets. In particular exotic fruits should be tried like melon, watermelon, peach, grapes, apricots, orange, papaya, cantaloupe. They readily accept apples, pears and plums in their diet. Try them on lettuce, cress, cucumber, carrot (grated or cooked), corn on the cob, clover, dandelion. Feeding will take place at any time of the day or night if light is provided and heat and water are available.

Cited from this website British Chelonia Group: THE SOUTH AMERICAN TORTOISES.

Half of this contradicts what im beiong told to feed her??
