Default Another rescue!!! NEWS!!

In a rush as I am a running coach and just off to work..in a nutshell a lady has just come round clutching my flyer..she lives next to the lady who practically threw Tammy at me as she bit her daughter..apparently she said the woman told her she gave Tammy away as she was too old and didn't settle, but has now got another younger one!!! I don't know what to think, I wonder, this baby would have easily got out of the rabbit run Tammy was in, but she hasn't been round to say she has lost one although she would have had a leaflet..Can't imagine a breeder selling a baby born this year and tiny..but I've never had a baby one so don't know..so prob not the one..oh well perhaps I'm jumping the gun can't go banging on her door.

I know weird isn't it, I know for a fact two of her children were very upset over Tamms, and I was wondering if she bought another to shut them up.
Just said to Eviemay almost tempted to ask to see it...oh dear that would not be right though!

The tortoise or the woman? Only joking!

This has been an interesting saga to follow. Maybe you need to 'bump' into her in the street, tell her how tammy is and mention you had heard she had got another, see where it takes you. Are the old couple still in their house or have they now moved?

Last thing, if it is that families tortoise, it is theirs. There's many people on this and other forums who started out with one idea about husbandry then learnt more. I know this isn't the best way round, get tortoise then learn, research can easily be done beforehand on the internet now, plus there was the information you gave her before. If you aren't happy (with whoever the tortoises owners may turn out to be and the care they provide) then maybe you are looking at a third party to take ownership of the tortoise. (hopefully thinking these third parties can do something about it - whats the legal minimum that must be provided for a tortoise? adequate housing, water, suitable food, not at risk of escape and subsequent harm?)

Looking forward to seeing what happens, and the pictures of course. Not too identifiable though as no owner has come forward yet.

Whatever happens, I'm glad this tortoise found its way to you when it was lost. We know its being properly looked after while in your care.

Thankyou very much for your kind words..
I will bump into the woman before long and will be very diplomatic in my choice of words..It just all seems to tie up..not hearing from anyone, her buying a baby tortoise..maybe just maybe they didn't want this one either so didn't come to claim her..or I have it all wrong and they have a tortoise and it's fine...dunno! Yes the old people have moved and they are visiting Tammy in two weeks time.
