Just an ordinary 40-60W reflector is what you need...

...from any hardware shop.

A Clamp Lamp is the easiest way to mount it.

Mounting that above a raised area will give them enough heat to keep them warm and bask in yeh ??

Yes plenty.

You can either fit a dimmer switch or use a dimming Clamp Lamp, or simply adjust the height to get the correct temp which should be 32-35°C.

When using anything electrical around water it's worth investing in a plug-in RCD, under a tenner could save your's and your turt's life!

To be honest mate im not really sure because im very new to reptiles and everything and im just going on what the previous owners told me.

The new tank i have is a fish tank and it has two strip lights at the top, would this be ok or not?

Do you need a UV light as well as or something?

Can someone please shed some light for me? i dont want to be harming or not looking after my terrapins properly
