hi all, just got aq few questions as i want to know all that is needed to keep em right as i am having some next week hopefully,


right, i am told, pellets daily and veg as often as they will eat it, (daily basically)
uv is needed, and a basking spot, uv has to be near it, and last of alll

a good strong filter is needed as there really dirty?

Is this all right,if not, please advise other wise, John

You got it!

The UV and the spotlamp are trained on the same spot.

And if you're getting hatchlings (less than 12 months) you'll also need to heat the water.

An external filter is really the only kind worth considering, internals just can't handle the kind of mess that turts make.

Shame your so far away, as im selling most of the things you would need, very reasonably!

For what its worth though, I echo graham, an external REALLY is the only way forward, you wouldn't believe the amount of waste these guys kick out!

Cheers for that guys, got all the equip with the tank, what temp would you say? 26-27?

If they're hatchlings they need a water temp of approx 26°C, which can be gradually reduced to 20°C by 12 months old.

Basking spot should be 32-35°C.

Cheers mate, there ace, also, got a quick question. thetank which they wil be in for a month r so will be a 4x18x18, would you know if this would be ok half full upstairs in a bedroom preesuming it is correctly placed ie. against a wall and going the right way( floorboards & joists wise)
