Well i have two spur thighed torts both aged at about 28. (infact its mi girl 1, talloola, 29th today). i just really want to know when the usually amte and lay eggs, i know there isnt a exact age but the general age. i want to know if its too late to have baby torts or not! thanx

there is no hard and fast rules about mating! just like people, animals can be infertile too. they need to have perfect conditions in order too mate and lay fertile eggs. the diet, temps, hibernation all have to be spot on. even then, some just areent interested!

Its not that easy im afraid. I have a adult male that is quite happy living with my females never mates them. Where my other two will mate them.

Does your male mate the female?

im not sure what you mean by mate the female!? he used to try and bash her shell quite often, but hardly does now. he follows her around sometimes. but apart from that im not sure what u mean

lol does he get on top of her and open his mouth?

im not sure! lol! i dont really inspect them! lol! he trys to i think but she doesnt seem to pleased wiv it, she normally pushes him off! they do go over to each other a bobb there heads up and down quite often though, if thats any help...

i have 3 male hermans together atm as just had them id's and sexed properly and they mate eachother with their mouthes open they make a barking noise. i am wokring on seperateing them

Keep an eye on him see if he gets his tail under her.
