Unhappy Salmon Urates Help!(horsfield)

hi last week i posted about tank my horsfield having sticky brown wee
well last week after his choking incident he hasnt eaten anything i have been batheing him 2 times a day today he has finally gone toilet, his urates first and they are a peachy pink colour(salmon) and he has had a huge poo never seen so much in my life

im thinking what ever he eaten in teh garden that days blocked him up.may be wrong, rang a few vets bout his urates just for difrent opinions and heres what they all say

1) feed iceberg and cucumber to hydrate him dont worry about feeding theese for a few days as they will keep him hydrated ,keep checking his wee and see the colour

2) feed cucumber and beansprouts (r beansprouts ok) and bathe 3 times a day keep a eye on his poo n wee for next few days

3) keep batheing him and feed carrot tomato cucumber and weeds to try tempt him back to feed and if not feeding in another week bring him in,they said aslong as he going to toilet he will b ok,

4) booked in for 2 mora?

ne ideas what to do to feed to tempt him back to food.>?? aND WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIS URATES PLEASE

I've only read this Claire, not had experience of it, but urates that are stored in the kidneys for too long through dehydration become more solid and change colour (pinkish tinge). He needs lots of baths (at least two a day) to help him rehydrate. Cucumber will help with the rehydration too.

as above. i have never had experience with pink urates but aslong as he is pooing etc, just keep him hydrated. try him with the cucmber and lettuce, as hydration is more important than nutrition if he is under the weather. Its good that he has pood such a large amount, it would suggest that he was a little blocked up. hopefully this will have cleared now and he should get back to normal.

ps, bean sprouts are very high in protein and the change in diet may cause more problems than it solves. if it was me i would stick to watery foods that will encourage him to eat like the lettuce and cucumber JUST for now though, make sure he knows its a medicaldiet and not a regular thing!

Hi if he will eat iceberg and cucumber then give it to him but also keep offering weeds and grass too.Keep bathing him and do not make him bask! He might be dehydrated! How long is it since he swallowed that thing and i asked you in a p.m if you had a good look at it and what it looked like?

Also how do you know that the sticky brown stuff was wee and not poo ?

Have you been feeding alot of dandelions? this can cause wee to go red.
Keep up with the baths
