Definitely take the poo sample with you Claire. Good luck at the vets, let us know how he gets on hun.

Yuk, does sound like it might be worms.

Reminds me of when we bought my grandad a pup in the late 70's. She threw up a huge amount of really long worms.... All over my sisters bare feet! LOL, it was so disgusting!

jacqui paterson is the vet were at yes.
he has worm eggs and needs worming she said he is swolen inside from what ever he swallowed she has given him a antiinflamatory and going to tube him 2mora to make sure the blockage is clear with him not eating still and while tubing him she is going to worm also ,after his jab he got scared and wouldnt come out of his shell so she couldnt tube him we going back 2 mora with him to try again

i know.glad she found the worm eggs tho surely the burden of that will cause internal problems also? might be wrong there ??


how do they get worms??

will his life in a glass tank have affected this

He could have ingested eggs from his food. If a bird had poo'd on a dandie leaf say, and that was fed to the tort, that could have worm eggs in it, and so then the tort has worms.... It happens very easily for all animals.

If he had a very large worm load then yes I would say that could cause internal problems... It does in dogs.

thanks for that just wonderd if maybe i fed him sonthing wrong and could have caused this but highley unlikley now eh!
