The cacti I buy grow ok.... Well apart from when a German Shepherd decides to eat them, but the ones I have grown from seed have never done much, apart from what I now think is optunia!

Im assuming you have to remove the spikes before feeding?

Do you cut it up into small pieces?

i remove the spikes with a blowtorch. the spikes get EVERYWHERE!! they are very annoying and take ages to pull them out. Or i will use a very sharp stanly knife to take the spkies of at the root. leos and sulcs will eat them spikes and all given the chance. dont fancy picking up spikey poo though, its an unpleasant enough job as it is!
