i think it may be too humid in there for a leo. if its anything like my uncles tropical room then they can be quite like a sauna! A redfoot tortoise may be a better choice for that type of environment. they love high humidity as they are from the rainforest. they also get quite big and are very beautiful and colourful creatures. they dont hibernate either. you would save an awful lot of electricity money by housing a redfoot in a room like that! i imagine they would be perfect , a leo needs a relatively dry environment. wher abouts do you live?

ooh right ! i get you now. the tortoise trust has some great care sheets for the leos and there is plenty of information about them on the internet. they can get very big and need quite a specific environment so as long a s you could provide that and also bath them twice a week or so then go for it. They need lots of grass, every day and freshy picked weeds too. my husband and i have to go out every day in the winter to collect weeds and grass from the loacl parks and woodlands. they do not react well to salad or poor diet. In the spring summer and autumn, they need to go outdoors to bask and graze. They ideally need an outdoor heated enclosure and greenhouse with UVB and full heating for daytime use. the setup can cost more than a few torts, but i think its worth it in the end. i have had a few different types of tort but loved the leos from the minute i saw my first one!
