Question Which supplements?

I have a spur thighed who is getting on a bit & not eating brilliantly yet this spring. I've never used vitamin supplements, only a bit of cutttle fish bone sprinkled on his fruit & veg weekly. What else can/should I be doing?

Nutrobal seems to be the most commonly used on here as well as limestome flour. Cuttlefish is good to leave in the enclosure for them to nibble on and get a calcium boost.

hi can i ask if your tortoises gets bathed as a good soak can help to rehydrate them after hibernation as they get older it doesnt hurt to molly coddle them a bit when they struggle if you are feeding fruit regulary it can upset their gut so perhaps it might help if this was reduced.also i agree with you in that i have been putting cuttlefish bone on all mines food for the last 25 years i know Nutrobbal is a very good suppliment but unless it is extremely fresh it can smell strongly and a lot of tortoises refuse it.

Thankyou,

Yes I give Alfie warm baths twice a day (with Reptoboost when he first wakes for a couple of weeks.) I will cut it down when he gets going properly, but he enjoys them & drinks well, so I'll keep going for now. Thanks for the cuttle fish advice, I'll try leaving it in his enclosure to get muddy! & get some of this nutrobal you speak of to try!
