If they're on the surface it sounds like mites, if they're actually underwater then they would be something else.

Which are pretty harmless...
They could be small mites, or one of the several species of clam shrimps. Some are tiny, less than 1mm and can be all sorts of mental colours. If anything, they will eat all the waste in your tank.

the turtles are something that begins with a c.usefully ive forgotten.they look like red eared sliders but without the red ears and theyre not yellow bellies either.ill post a pic.the wee red beasties seem to hang around the edge of the water and on the walls of the tank if theyre wet.i was feeding the turtles dried gammarus for a while.dyou think there may have been eggs in it thats now hatched maybe?
