Default My reds are hatching

Well im not haing much luck with my red foot eggs, had over 50 (still loads in the incubator) but have thrown alot away as they were either infertile or died in early incubation.
Dan asked me on MSN the other day how they were getting on and i said i give up. He said candle them from underneath and i did and saw one moving in its shell (the were 2 weeks over due) but the other wasnt that stared to pip the next day. I candled the other egg the next night and that moved too. Thats hatching now!!!
Im so happy
However the one out seems to have caught is egg yoke, i have put them on tissue and am seeking more advice.

congrats, but it must be a nerve wracking time. they are very cute too! so is it difficult to incuabte redfoot eggs? whats the success rate or does it depend on lots of other circumstances?

Darren (piglet on sw) breeds red foots and has over 60 hatchlings a year, i have put my bad luck down to diet.

Hi Sarah,

They are looking good. Did they pip naturally? The crack patterns are quite different from my lot. Mine spin around horizontally for a day or two before they come out.

Hope the yolk sack is ok. Little pretties!

Nothing cuter than a tiny tortoise congrats Are their shells soft and bendy when they hatch then?
