I know a couple breeders but they are in the states... I can get them for you and import them but it is going to cost you through the nose... that one you WILL have to run by the hubby.

Then there is one breeder in the UK that I know... That'll cost you through the nose also for the contact info.

I'll got a pair also... unbelievable animals.

will i have to sell a kidney kind of expensive? there are some tortoise retailers here in the uk that are selling hatchlings for £400 ish. but i would ideally like something a little older if its realisitically possible, maybe 3 years old. if not then i geuss hatchlings it is. i have always liked them and the more i learn about them, the more intrigued i am. they seem like really cool hardcore all-terrain tanks.

hey... if you're looking for a buyer... I can fix you up... then when you have the cash... I can fix you up again...

There were some 'farmed' animals available in the states recently... that's where I got my pair. I never liked them but now that I have them the personalities are unreal.

btw... I will get you a contact but they will be hatchlings.

Ed, if you could get me an idea on price then i would be forever in your debt. owe you a favour big time. and it will give me a chance to charm the other half. maybe cook him a nice dinner, bake a batch of muffins. may have to bring out the big guns on this one though... could always buy him some new giant beetle grubs to sweeten the deal!

You're not going to like this...

Adults go for 400 to 500 USD here.

Ok... from a guys point of view... you KNOW what he wants... and it's not dinner... muffins, maybe... but not dinner.

Latter I'll try and get you a contact. I have a friend over from the UK who knows a pancake tortoise breeder.

I know three pancake breeders in the UK. One will be the on Ed mentions and of the others one doesn't sell and the other I will get the contact for you. Hatchlings go for around £300 here.

They are interesting torts, I have always wanted them, but have now given up.

ok, well that was easy. i must be very persuasive as hubby caved in quicker than expected. i have been given approval for one or two pancake tortoises AFTER i have had the baby and everything is back to normal. but he also said i could have an albino royal python AND a female spider royal. my total budget is £1000 and i am not allowed to exceed it, and also i must save it up myself ( well, i am planning on selling him "favours" to speed the process up!) and over the next few months .

so, i have to decide between a spider royal £400, an albino royal £600, or two pancake torts at approx £300 a pop each. or any combination of them. i am gonna have to think very carefully about this one....
