Default Snappers?

Hi all,
don't get much time to post nowadays but here we go!
Have been thinking recently about getting some turtles again, I had some afew years ago but sadly they both died s I was very inexperienced and frankly quite ignorant!
So anyway now I'm a bit more clued up and have 3 years experience under the belt (no deaths!) have been thinking about t once again an thought I might have a lok at snapping turtles, could anyone help me wit sizes? enclosure? good beginner turtle? If not, can you recmmend anythig else?
Cheers!
Ben

I should be getting one very soon from the classifieds. Ive kept turtles before, and looked after snappers. I have set up a 5x2x2 tank for mines arrival and i have a 4x4 pond outside thats nearly ready. I Dont see why they wouldnt be a good beginner turtle, providing you have the space, and give it all the respect in the world, thats if you're fond of your fingers!

a good site for snapper info (both species) is Chelydra.org - Snapping Turtle Page - snapper information photo gallery page

all the info you could need can be found there.

thanks, snapping turtles can make very good pets providing your willing to make the commitment, it is a big commitment though so i'd advise you to think carefully, if you can meet the needs of the animal then go for it but if you have even the slightest doubt then wait a while

regards........kwiky
