Default What kind of tortoise is this?

Hi,

My parents recently inherited a tortoise. I've put some pics up and i'm hoping someone can tell me what kind of tortoise he/she is so I can find out some more information on him/her. I've no idea if it's male or female either.

Sorry if the pics aren't very useful I wasn't really sure what I was looking for. He's about thirty I believe.

Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks.

could you post a pic of the underside? 99% sure its a spur thigh (greek) could sex it aswell

feed it weeds, if its used to bieng kept outside then keep it in a wooden box with a hole for an enterance with some bedding inside and it should be fine

Testudo gracae gracae...spur thigh...not an ibera...possibly a whitei but the marginal scutes do not seem flared enough.
If you take pics of plastron and weights in grams...it will help with subspecies id and one from the back to see the flare on the scutes.

Whitei is the first thing that crossed my mind. Those actually seem to be the most common among the old time adoptions... looks like another abused... ill kept tortoise...

to the OP... Very nice looking animal.

I would suggest that you ask the original owner exactly the way it was kept and keep it the same way. If you change anything do it very slowly.
