Didn't someone on here rescue a tort from somebody who had found one and thought it was a turtle and had kept it in a fishtank? I'm sure if it couldn't swim it would of drowned..

In your circumstance... I would suggest fencing off the pond and not chance it.

Don't they float well or something due to there lungs? Which means they float upsidedown and can breath.

The lungs are at the top of the carapace.

They can panic... just like people... and drown though.

Yea... I love that video... it has to be one of the best records of them swimming. Keep in mind that animal has to be over 300 lbs.

its amazing isnt it...cant believe such a huge tort floats, the same site has them sitting in the sea to cool of lol
