Im well chuffed with all these answers. I thought it was a stupid question. And the video of the tortoise swimming is brilliant.

Whether they can swim or not - I've read some horror stories about tortoises who have been found in ponds - not nice - I think like Ed says keep it well fenced off !!!

I think they can...survive in water well enough to maybe get to shore, but not like say a turtle would i think.

Hi there, I have 3 tortoises that live outdoors, they do not like getting wet..they poo!!! and if it rains they go in there shelter bed....so I don't think mine like swimming much!!
