Mine get it on special ocassions - my birthday etc. I've heard it can give them colic. I reckon in the wild some lucky tortoises will come across ripe fruit in the autumn.

if my toe nails are painted red then i am dicing with death going into the greenhouse, or walking around barefoot with my leos. they LOVE anything red, especially strawberries, and its worth noting that the MVB lamps were responsible for this change. when i had normal tubes, alot of foods werent eaten by my torts. but as soon as i put the MVB lamps in, WHAM! they eat eveything in sight, including my toes! the broader and more intense uvb spectrum increases the visual appeal of the food by enhancing the colour (apparnetly!).

What if someone had said, no it's poisonous to give the leaves? Best of asking before giving something you aren't sure of, rather than give it, then ask, and panic if the animal has already eaten it.

I have to squash them up a bit before I offer to Horatio otherwise he can't seem to get a good grip on them.
